Re: Mintbox 2 memory errors with 16GB installed

Well sadly it appears this issue remains unsolved. I'm still getting random kernel panics in Linux and memtest86+ shows errors when testing. I suggest to test another set of memories, preferably from a known vendor. I think Patriot Memory qualifies as a well known vendor. They have over 40 five star...

Re: Mintbox 2 memory errors with 16GB installed

Edit: Please see below posts for more details. Issues unresolved. Thanks for the reply mbirger. I decided to do more testing and found a configuration that seems to work. For anyone else who may be using memtest86, it would appear that 5.0.0 for UEFI has some bugs that produce false positive test r...

Mint Box 2 memory errors with 8GB+ installed

Hello, I purchased a Mintbox 2 in September. In December I ordered a 1600MHz 16GB DDR3L kit from Newegg and experienced errors with it. I returned the memory to Newegg and purchased a 1333MHz DDR3 16GB kit. Upon installing the new memory kit I am experiencing random crashes. I ran memtest86 and foun...

Re: 1.35V Memory support

It is clearly stated in the specs: http://www.fit-pc.com/web/products/comparison/?model%5B%5D=IPC-D2x2-C3337NL-H500-WB-XLM-FM4U-BMint Mentioned only DDR3, not DDR3L memory. You are correct. Also, after further research it appears that JDEC mandates all DDR3L modules must be compatible with 1.5V mem...

Re: 1.35V Memory support

Correct, Intense PC HW support 1.5V DDR3 SDRAM memories only. I see, well that's rather disappointing. The only place I have found this mentioned is on the forums, not in any of the MintBox2 documentation, which is why I assumed since the CPU supported both the MintBox2 did as well. Would it be pos...

Arch linux on MintBox2

If anyone is interested in installing Arch linux on their MintBox2, it is possible and not too difficult! The main thing to remember is that you need to create an EFI System Partition (if using pure EFI mode, which I recommend). If you don't the system won't boot! You will also need to use efibootmg...

Re: MintBox does nothing

DisplayPort does not show anything either. May need a wakeup of some sort or hard reset, but does not seem to have such a feature. Thank you. I had similar issues with my MintBox2 when I first got it. I ended up leaving it on and plugged in over night and by morning it was properly outputting video...

Advanced memory settings

Would it be possible to enable advanced memory settings in the UEFI configuration program? Currently the MintBox2 reads the SPD information from the installed modules and there is no control over voltage, speed or timing. I am not interested in overclocking the memory, I ask because I have some modu...

1.35V Memory support

Hello, I bought a MintBox2, and according to the Intel i5-3337U CPU specification DDR3L is supported ( http://ark.intel.com/products/72055/Intel-Core-i5-3337U-Processor-3M-Cache-up-to-2_70-GHz ) I purchased a 1.35V memory kit for the MintBox2, however there are many memory errors when I install it. ...
