Re: remote control problem: no /dev/lirc0

I am in a hurry, but LIRC support in lucid works out of the box for me. I will check back and post some config settings. --edit-- DEBIAN_FRONTEND=noninteractive sudo apt-get install lirc ( echo REMOTE=\"Igor Cesko\'s USB IR Receiver\" echo REMOTE_MODULES=\"lirc_dev lirc_igorplugusb\" echo REMOTE_DRI...

Re: Installing Ubuntu 10.04 on fitPC2 and fitPC2i

I haven't checked to see if the compulab xorg file makes a difference, It should make a difference, because without you will most likely not be able to get X up. what would happen if i followed the 9.10 instructions using 10.04? You will run into version mismatches. The packages are not built for l...

Re: How is power on/off working

Linux shutdown works, although I had some problems not powering off at all at first. This issue is gone now.

I think the USB-Ports are powered at all time, but I am actually not sure. The fitpc2-sbc reference guide shows 70mA to 90mA in "off" mode.

Re: Fedora 14 i686 on fit-PC2

You might want to have a look at [1] for enabling the gma500 gpu including basic 3d and hardware video acceleration. For the xorg.conf you should have a look at the one provided by Compulab. Maybe this one works out of the box. If not, generate your own xorg.conf and play around with the Device-Sect...

Re: HDD not listed in "Computer"

It is likely that during the installation also just the 4GB HD showed up, and that it was this one that I programmed to be erased and used in its entirety. Again... this is exactly the problem in discussed in the thread mentioned before: I won't work with a batch file as the hard drive won't be det...

Re: Installation of Debian 5/6?

The fitpc2 is like any other computer. What most users don't see, is that computers are utterly broken... Please provided some additional information: Which fitPC2 are you using (model and revision)? Which media are you installing from (and to)? If you are using an fitpc2i from the pilot batch, some...

Re: HDD not listed in "Computer"

The kernel changes found in the thread regarding the server version should apply tot he desktop version, too. However, I don't own the hardware to test it.

Re: HDD not listed in "Computer"

Again., this looks like a fitpc2i from the pilot batch of the series. The solution is described at [1].

Re: Skype doesn't work on Fit-PC2i with Ubuntu 10.04

Looks fine so far. Now try aplay /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Center.wav If it throws an error, include the message here. You might want to check if your user is in the audio group: groups If it display something like "WAVE '/usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Center.wav' : Signed 16 bit Little Endian, Rat...

Re: Skype doesn't work on Fit-PC2i with Ubuntu 10.04

Well, if you can't hear any sound at all, it doesn't seem to be a skype problem...

Check, if alsa sees the sound card:

Code: Select all

cat /proc/asound/cards
If so, check the volume of master and pcm:

Code: Select all

alsamixer
