Re: fit-PC3 Value general performance

I'll volunteer a tangential opinion. I switched to Intense PCs when they came out and have an Intense PC value as a HTPC. It has a processor about 4x faster (passmark scores) in general use but with graphics more in line. I have 16GB memory and a SSD installed. I find it sluggish for 2D games and ev...

Re: IPC2 i7 Barebone availability

Is there any idea of IPC2 I7 Barebone availability both here and at Amazon?

In other words, in large enough stock to show up even at Amazon for a few weeks at a time.

Re: no dvd drive so how do i get an OS in there?

You can purchase an external bootable USB DVD drive for $25-30 from many places. But even easier is to create a bootable USB flash drive from your existing DVDs. You'll need access to another machine that can read your DVDs. The process it to first create an ISO image of your DVD on a hard drive and...

Re: XP installed, no internet -- please help!

No guarantees of course but years ago (but not on a fit-pc) I took the opposite route and slipstreamed XP w/ SP3 and installed that way rather than trying to build up from the base XP. Search for nLite slipstream XP. There's the nLite site itself and a few tutorials returned in the search results.

Re: PC doesn't stay in sleep mode - network port waking it u

I had the same problem (or at least it sounds similar) a couple weeks ago for both an Intense PC Pro and Value. I was able to get things working correctly though. While I can't tell you any specific solution I can provide the following information: You are correct in that only the Intel NIC supports...

Re: Intense PC locks up ... possible SATA connector issue?

Quick follow-up in case anyone reads. I received a replacement unit a couple weeks ago and it has been running perfectly with the same memory, HD, AHCI, etc. All is well.

Re: Intense PC locks up ... possible SATA connector issue?

Still waiting for an RMA to be issued. I'm not sure why an RMA should take more than a day or so, but apparently it's a multi-week process involving lots of people just to get things started...?! So while I'm waiting for return authorization I've played around with the machine a bit more and am pla...

Re: Intense PC locks up ... possible SATA connector issue?

Ok, I've spent a number of days trying different things and can now say that the problems I'm having are due to something internal to the Intense PC. Here are the things I've tried. With Windows I found a user space memory tester for Windows (http://www.hcidesign.com/memtest) and tried that. Sure en...

Re: Intense PC locks up ... possible SATA connector issue?

For further testing I'm going to pull the hard drive and see if I can get either SliTaz or Slax configured and loaded completely in memory. That should rule out one possible problem area completely. I'm assuming a hard drive doesn't need to be installed, but not sure? I think I've found an older lap...

Re: Intense PC locks up ... possible SATA connector issue?

Sorry to harp on this, but I still need to know about the Intel SSD. My plan was to get a stable system running and then build two more just like it. If there is an issue with Intel SSDs and the Intense PC Pro please state such and the details of the problem. I like the reliability of the Intel driv...
