Re: Intermittant sound problems
I think I have the same problem. It has plagued both my fitPC2i devices from Day 1 - so I don't think it's a faulty unit. Sound will be working normally and then some time later, often days later, I will come back to the fitPC and try to get sound out of it and there will be nothing. No login sound....

DLNA server
I'm running a DLNA server on my fitPC2i. I installed serviio. A big plug for serviio! It worked out of the box with very little fuss and bother. I'm only doing audio at the moment. It indexed everything nicely and allows access by artist, title, ... Will later definitely be adding my photo albums. N...

Re: movie player visualisation
I get the same error - but only on one fitPC2i. The same workaround (disable visualisation) works for me.
If anyone knows of a fix for this, I am interested!
Edit: PS Not streaming audio from a web site in my case. Just playing an MP3 on a local disk.

Re: TV blackscreen after input changed.
It may help to specify: * What type of output from fitPC / input to TV? Is it an HDMI cable from fitPC to an HDMI input on the TV? Is it HDMI to VGA (special) adapter and then VGA input on the TV? If HDMI, can you try the latter (if you have the adapter)? * If using HDMI, can you try a different cab...

Re: Won't boot after package update
when I reboot I get an error "Memory to small" With the obvious question ... how much memory do you have? I did not ever see this message so perhaps your problem is different from mine. It does seem to be very very unstable. Seems to crash at the slightest excuse normally provoked by moving a windo...

Re: dd copy very slow
Yes, that is much better. Thanks. A little over 18 MB/sec. (In case you are wondering, I am grappling with backup. If information is stored on the fitPC then it is worth backing up but the fitPC2 specification doesn't make this easy i.e. finding the right compromise between capacity of internal disk...

Re: Won't boot after package update
I've had some success with progressing this. Creating an exact copy of the root device allowed me to boot from it and apply the updates with the system booted from the copy. That way, if the system won't boot after the updates, it doesn't matter. One of the problems is that my knowledge of Linux is ...

dd copy very slow
I am using dd to copy one device to another. It is very slow e.g. a little over 5 MB/sec. Is this expected? The source device is an internal SATA II SSD. hdparm says that it is able to achieve an uncached read speed of about 80 MB/sec, which is close to the limit of the SATA II bridge, I would imagi...

I noticed there's a typo in the above
should be
Code: Select all
read-edid | parse-edid
Code: Select all
get-edid | parse-edid

Re: Boot forever - Your disk drives are being checked for er
Hmmm. Now I'm confused. The fitPC used to be in the lounge room, connected to the TV (not usually on) via HDMI and without a keyboard and mouse. From time to time, it would hang during boot. Switching on the TV would show the claimed message. Plugging in a keyboard and pressing C would get the fitPC...
