Re: transmit video signal
Well, after reviewing the specs on the fit-pc2, I havn't been able to find any sort of dvi-in port on it, have you? the hdmi port adapter on it is only dvi-out, i don't think this device includes any sort of native video capture capability. I don't know what the capabilities of your camera are eithe...

Re: transmit video signal
OK, so, theoreticly, you could use some sort of video capture card to connect the camera to, and that piece of hardware will define the compression and how many MB/s comes out, and it will transmit data to the fit-pc2 (via usb?)... at whcih point, you could network a pair of fit-pc2's together, wire...

Re: WishList: BlueTooth
That is so cool! I never knew these things were that small until you posted and I went to check myself... Here's one that doesn't overhang the usb slot by anything, making it impossible for it to interfere with other usb plugs. http://c1.neweggimages.com/ProductImageCompressAll/33-242-001-04.jpg htt...

Adding SDHC and extra SATA
Where would you put a sdhc or a sata chip or a sdvo chip? I totally get wishing for them, I wish for them too! Let's look: http://compulab.co.il/fitpc2/img/fitpc2-sb-top-m.jpg http://compulab.co.il/fitpc2/img/fitpc2-sb-bot-m.jpg The only space plausible (in my not-very-technical opinion) would be to...
Re: CPU
That's one of the reasons I'm so attracted to the Fit-PC2, it's a complete working computer, with all parts attached where you know how many watts it draws before you buy. You go out you get another computer with a 6w cpu and by the time you're done building the computer it might draw 25 - 40w just ...

Re: USB Power
The short answer to the question is yes*. The long answer is that if your device follows the usb2 spec, and the computer follows the usb2 spec, and the power supply attached to the device can supply enough power for the computer and all attached devices, then yes. So, I'm just going to trust that bo...

Re: fit-pc2 power consumption
Hmm, 6w of dc input... power supply doing a bunch of conversions, but the wattage should be the same rite? 7.5w * 0.80 efficient = 6w? So, that should mean 7.5w on the ac outlet that's hooked up to my power bill? Still perfectly reasonable. Or have I got my general assumption that ac watts will equa...

Re: Video acceleration in Linux
The limited nature of the linux drivers has to do with what version of linux you're running. The Ubuntu 8.04 that this will release with will have very good linux drivers with full support for the hardware... (according to various urls that I've found and posted elsewhere on these forums and am too ...

Re: Flash videos
Erm, yes, and no. I'll bend and allow as how some audio chips are fundamentally better than others, and only allowing one stream at a time is certainly annoying; but the fact that it can be fixed with esd or arts points to the general problem that these things aren't setup by linux but by what packa...
