I have the exact same issue with FreeBSD 11.1 (pfSense 2.4.2). The LAN FACET is not recognized by the Intel igb driver. When attaching network cables to the ethernet ports the lights switch on. When running 'pciconf -lv': none10@pci0:1:0:0: class=0x020000 ...

I confirmed that I am able to use the USB installer on another computer. Oddly, I was able to install pfSense to another USB and boot that USB on the FitLet. I suspect I do not have something set right in the BIOS, but haven't figured out what it is. Not too big of a deal. ...

... cards don't last as long as mSATA flash drives. As for speed, yes, a microSDHC/XC card seems to work great. I hope to turn my fitlet-iA10 into a pfSense firewall soon, using a microSD card as it's boot device.
