Re: serial port FreeBSD, PfSense
You could use the serial console on FreeBSD by setting in /boot/loader.conf: hw.uart.console="mm:0xfea10000,rs:2" This will configure the memory-mapped serial console . The base address is obtained by issuing: # pciconf -l -b pci0:24:2 uart2@pci0:0:24:2: class=0x118000 rev=0x0b hdr=0x00 vendor=0x808...

Re: serial port FreeBSD, PfSense
I'm trying to set up serial port as a local console on my PfSense setup on fitlet2. It looks like that it doesn't recognize local serial port. Is it possible to make it work? Serial works fine in POST and BIOS. Hi Eduard, What pfSense installer did you ...

Re: pfSense on Fitlet2 - system freezes after ~1d uptime
... it looks like the instability can be solved through configuration. It could highly likely be an issue with the NIC driver and I will post it to pfSense forums to make them aware (but have previously talked with the community already). What solved my problem for now (2.5 days uptime and counting): ...

Re: pfSense on Fitlet2 - system freezes after ~1d uptime
... If I had to guess I would focus on the i211 NICs. Unfortunately Compulab has no knowledge in FreeBSD, but AFAIK fitlet2 is quite popular among pfSense users, so may be worth consulting on pfSense forums. To rule-out the possibility of a hardware problem, first run memtest. Then you can install ...

[Solved] pfSense on Fitlet2 - system freezes after ~1d uptime
Hi I just recently bought a fitlet2 with additional 2 NIC's (FACET card). I then proceeded with installation of the latest stable pfSense (2.4.5 - running on FreeBSD 11.3). All worked fine for approx. 19-23 h and then system freezes. It does not any longer respond to the interfaces and ...

... forums about issues around the Realtek ethernet gimp freejobalert notepad++ controllers, but no actual success stories I can find. Has anyone got pfSense working on a PC2i? If so, were there any "Gotchas" ? It would be useful to know before I give it a go. Thanks. I also need help with the same. ...

Re: Fitlet2 for PfSense
The following note is mentioned in the fitlet2 specs under "Power" section: fitlet2 is low power Class III (EN/IEC 62368-1 Audio/video, information and communication technology) equipment that is to be powered from external DC Low Power (LPS) unregulated power supply. The external power supply ratin...
