Re: SSD failure or Debian 10 Incompatible ?
Thanks, Tamir. If the only thing that's wrong is that SMART doesn't work, I think I'll live with it, rather than being without my server for several days. If I run into further problems, though, you'll hear from me. ;-) I am assuming that the likely repair would be replacement of some hardware, not ...

Re: SSD failure or Debian 10 Incompatible ?
To answer the questions in the previous two posts... * I hadn't tried libata.force=1.5G, but I have now on Mint. It didn't change the outcome. * Apparmor is a systemd-enabled service on both Tumbleweed and Mint. * S/N is 1181011-00620 * P/N is FITLET2-CE3950 * I've seen this behavior on "Linux Mint ...

Re: SSD failure or Debian 10 Incompatible ?
This problem of the SSD becoming read-only also occurs on Mint. I've been having this problem with a Fitlet2 on openSUSE Tumbleweed (where a SMART test is run about every half-hour, making openSUSE unusable on a Fitlet2) and recently discovered that a workaround is to disable the smartd daemon. Seei...

OpenSUSE?
Has anyone been successful in running openSUSE (Tumbleweed or LEAP) on a Fitlet2? Linux Mint runs without problems, but Tumbleweed has the problems with "disk" (SSD) access described in https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread. ... ost2902570.

Are old BIOS versions available?
HELP! I upgraded the BIOS in my Fit-PC3 today from SCT_2.1.0.333_11 (which I've been running for years) to SBCFP3_2.1.0.333_14 to see if it would resolve a problem I've been having, and now openSUSE does not see any of my USB3 devices. "dmesg | grep xhci" reveals the following: [ 7.731281] xhci_hcd ...

Re: Low voltage DDR support
Regarding my mSATA SSD, where/how do I set LPM? Never mind. I found it in http://www.fit-pc.com/wiki/index.php/Fitlet:_Installing_Linux_Mint_17 . For openSUSE 13.2, though, I added the setting of min_power on boot to /etc/init.d/boot.local, rather than /etc/pm/power.d/sata_alpm. Not sure that was t...

Re: Low voltage DDR support
Thanks, Irad. I'll get a copy of memtest and run it for a few hours. (I'm running openSUSE, which doesn't have memtest installed by default.) Regarding my mSATA SSD, where/how do I set LPM? By the way, I should probably say what I mean by "crash." The system freezes, and pressing the power button on...

Re: over 70 °C
I have a Crucial M550 CT128M550SSD3 mSATA SSD installed, and my system crashes semi-regularly when under moderate load (e.g., decoding MPEG video). Any chance this could be related to the Crucial SSDs running hot? Is there another mSATA SSD that would be better to install to keep the Fitlet cooler, ...

Re: Low voltage DDR support
See tested RAM modules list https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ryAR1uH7KM6aIFcxlt_3iZT1-Q1ANv3OB5tFeLlpL3s/edit?usp=sharing My Fitlet-i has been crashing semi-regularly when under modest load (e.g., decoding an MPEG video), so I've been checking into the RAM and mSATA SSD I purchased for it.
