VNC on Mint 16
I have some difficulty with using VNC on Linux Mint 16. The standard desktop will not launch properly and fails to the fallback desktop when using DISPLAY :1 or :2 or any higher number. This is awkward and hard to use. ---- Context : I have used VNC on both Windows and Linux for many years. It is m...

Upgrading Mint Linux on Brand New MintBox 2
A little over a year ago I bought two new MintBox 2 units with Mint 16 (Petra) installed. The original plan was to use one as a Web server and the other as a local file/archive server. MintBox 2 -- Analog Audio Problem
Following on my other post (the VGA dongle issue), I'm also having some difficulty getting the 3.5 mm analog stereo audio jack to do what I think it ought to do. I plugged in a set of stereo headphones. No sound came out. I checked the audio icon on the task bar, and it offers only the HDMI digital...

Re: Linux Mint Black screen
I just unboxed my first Fit-PC MintBox 2 last night. I connected a wireless Logitech K400 keyboard with integrated touchpad (which works just fine, thanks), and a 19-inch Acer LED VGA monitor. I used the Fit-VGA dongle to connect the monitor (HDMI-to-VGA). When I booted up the MintBox for the first...
