Re: desktop does not use entire screen (leaves ~1 inch borde

Yes, you were correct -- underscan was set to 8%. No idea why -- maybe my monitor was detected as TV?

desktop does not use entire screen (leaves ~1 inch borders)

Hi, Since very beginning (about a year ago) I had this problem -- my desktop doesn't use entire screen (leaves ~1" border on every side). Using monitor's native resolution (1920x1080). Currently my fitlet is running Linux Mint (Rafaela). Problem seem to be suspiciously similar to this one: http://ub...

Re: speeding up fitlet-iA10

Thanks for pointers. I've set APU TDP to 20k in BIOS -- effect is amazing. Games like 'Steam Dig' are working pretty good right now, temperature stays around 67C. Dragging around Cinnamon 'welcome' window is kind of sluggish still (desktop is in 1920x1080). I've tried to set CPU settings to '1 core ...

Re: speeding up fitlet-iA10

Oh, I fully realize that it is not a top end PC. I just wanted to run simple games like 2d platformers/strategy/etc.

What about switching off cores -- does it have any merit? These old games usually use 1 processor only -- they should benefit from cpu frequency boost (if it actually happens).

speeding up fitlet-iA10

Hi, I got my fitlet-iA10 Barebone, installed memory (8gb), mSDD (250Gb) and set it up according to this page: http://www.fit-pc.com/wiki/index.php/Fitlet:_Installing_Linux_Mint_17 It runs fine, but: - dragging window around in cinnamon is sluggish and there is quite a bit of tearing. Is it normal? (...

fit-PC3 Value general performance

Hi, I am considering to use "fit-PC3 Value" as "computer for kids" with aim to use it later as a home server (to handle bunch of hard drives and run SageTV). I tried my best but I could not find any answer for these questions: - will it comfortably handle office-style applications on Win7? (like Win...
