I had the same issue with my Fit-PC 1, installing Debian 6.0.5 - searching for hard disk drivers.... It turns out that while I have changed the settings in BIOS to boot from USB CD drive, I have disabled the IDE disk - so the installer wasn't able to find it.... After enabling it back in BIOS Debian...
