Re: Crackling/static noise in microphone
I have now also tested the microphone with skype in Linux Mint 8 on my laptop (based on ubuntu 9.10). The microphone works well here with very clear sound and hardly any noise. When I run audacity on fitpc it shows a lot of noise on the right channel, but my voice goes through ok on the left. I will...

Re: Crackling/static noise in microphone
Thanks for the suggestion, but with just a reboot it works flawlessly in Windows
and I am sure I plugged the mic into the mic hole. Does it work with
sound recorder and skype on your machine?

Crackling/static noise in microphone
I am having some trouble with my microphone. In ubuntu (any version installed as described on this website) there is a lot of static noise. In the sound recorder this is all I hear. In skype I can faintly hear myself in the background, but there is still a lot of static noise. In mandriva 2010 the s...

Re: Ubuntu 9.10 supported
Great job getting support for 9.10. I have the same black artifacts in Firefox (strangely enough it is most visible when viewing these forums, which are then almost unreadable). Also I cannot get my microphone to work: There is a lot of static noise and in sound recorder that is all I hear. In skype...

Re: Linux Mint
First download the file. It might end up on your desktop (in this case the path to the file can be written ~/Desktop/xorg.conf) Then in a terminal you write: cp /etc/X11/xorg.conf ~/xorg.conf.backup sudo cp ~/Desktop/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf You likely have to enter your password after the last ...

Re: PC JUST SHUTS DOWN AFTER A FEW HOURS BEING IDLE
Try to boot into the BIOS with the USB key inserted. If the specific usb key is in the list of boot devices move it to the top. It has happened several times to me that I have had to do this. Even though I have set usb boot as default I have to manually make the setting for each specific usb key. Ho...

Re: WLAN on recovery image
I take your word for it, but I have not been able to locate said directory.
Could I please get a full path or perhaps names of files? Otherwise
it is like looking for a needle in a haystack.
Regards,
Jens
