DisplayPort problems...
Hello. I have a new IntensePC, and I have installed Linux Mint 15 x64. I have two widescreen monitors which are identical, and have VGA ports. So I have two adapters to connect these monitors, made by StarTech, one DP -> VGA and the other HDMI -> VGA. The HDMI connected monitor works fine, showing u...

Re: dual monitor problem (solved)
Attached is the dmesg output from not long after boot. Also, another reason why it being the adapter doesn't make sense to me, is that the login screen appears on monitor #2, and then turns back off again after login (as stated in earlier post). The file was too long for the body of post, and it wou...

Re: dual monitor problem (solved)
Hmm... strange that the problem could be the adapters when it all works when the settings are set. It seems like somehow the monitor settings just aren't saving, since all it takes is turning the monitor #2 back on when I reboot. Both adapters are from StarTech. The display port adapter (monitor #2)...

Re: dual monitor problem (solved)
Well, that is the monitor that turns off, however, it's not that way from boot. When the machine boots, both monitors are on for the BIOS splash, then both monitors display the "Linux Mint" splash screen. Then the login screen appears on ONLY monitor #2 (the DP->VGA) monitor. Then when I log in, ins...
Re: USB3
Well, not having a camera (I know, the last person in the country), I figured I would easily be able to identify a useful mainboard revision number, having been a computer tech a long time and looked at many motherboards. Strangely no number really stood out as an obvious mainboard revision number a...

Re: dual monitor problem (solved)
Slight follow-up I hoped you could figure out. (Just about) every time I shut the machine down and bring it back up, my second monitor is de-activated. Going into the configuration utility easily turns it back on, but I would like it to just stay configured the way I left it. Any ideas? Thanks! Joshua

Re: daul monitor problem
That worked wonderfully, thank you! The "AMD Catalyst Control Center" was able to set the monitors quite correctly and now it works perfectly, even after suspend.
Thank you!

How do I determine the mainboard revision?

Re: daul monitor problem
When the computer first boots, it is incorrect as it was, with the second monitor as "unknown" and incorrect resolution. However, when I SUSPEND and then bring the computer back on, it's perfectly fine. Shutting down and turning it back on restores the problem again.

Re: daul monitor problem
On a whim, I decided to try suspend again, and this time, it came up from suspend working PERFECTLY with both monitors detected and set to 1360x768! And the offset problem seems to have disappeared. Strange, eh?!
Oh, how I just want it all to work right.
