Well, here I am answering all my own questions.
I installed the Wifi drivers from this site, which fixed the conflict with USB3.
So the conclusion is: even if Windows auto-installs drivers, they are not correct.

Hmm, only now I can either have WiFi or the DVD-player on USB3, but not both!

Ah, I figured it out. USB3 is like a different device, so you have to install the same drivers twice. msinfo32 was helpful.
