Re: Some small suggestions for fit-pc2
Some of these ideas are for specific use-cases and not generic. However, I will second a number of these ideas. >1. better case design. I think the current case design is OK. the ports don't line up exactly, but it's "close enough for government work" as we say. I found it interesting that the rear ...

Re: Order from France ?
Have you received your shipping confirmation with UPS tracking number yet?
You may have to wait another 13 days for that, on the order page there was a "lead time" mentioned of 4 weeks.

Re: VGA output
If you pluged it in to a tv with a HDMI cable, it would probably produce a very nice video display with no sound. There's a possibility that the top and/or bottom of the screen may not be visible due to some tv's using "Overscan", whatever that is.

Re: VGA output
Yes, there are several confirmed cases of people using expensive equipment to take a digital signal that the Fit-PC2 (or any DVI-D card) and reproduce it as an analog signal with output to VGA. For example, if you read carefully, the first post in this thread says he was able to do it using the prod...

Re: Confirmation of the order
polo,
When I ordered via that form, the confirmation was the fact that paypal said they'd received my money. They sent me a shipping notice a week or so later when they actually shipped my unit, with a UPS tracking number.

Re: Order from France ?
You ordered product direct from outside EU, so they charge you customs to import the product. Check your prices against the two EU distributors and see if what you pay plus customs is roughly equivelent to their prices.

Yeah, that particular link has floated around here for a while. It's a few months out of date, as we've had reports of updates that would allow the use of 8.10 with the right drivers... There are people working on the problem, including Intel. Just, noone's made 9.04 work quite yet... with no promis...

Re: SATA question
As far as I know, It does not use either standard. It will be a bit slower than either. You can put in a 1.5 or a 3.0 drive, they should both work fine. Yes, it's a bottleneck, but the cpu isn't a speed demon either, and you can find MB/s reports from other users on this forum that show the performa...

Re: fit-PC2 and hard disk temperature testing...
Hi Jhm, You could probably get a CF to SATA adapter somewhere, but if you buy the memory and adapter together they call them "SSD"'s now, or "Solid State Disks". It's very convenient the way they sell them together like that. With a SSD, you also get a memory buffer wired in to improve performance. ...
