Re: Router?
It's okay Irads!
I wasn't trying to pressure you for info, I was just trying to make sure people didn't go ahead asuming things without information.

Re: Just Recieved fit-pc2 unbuntu wasn't installed
I've never read anything about both being installed. The products page has an Ubuntu version, and at a seperate price, an XP version. If you're going to install ubuntu I suggest you stick with 8.04LTS, as that's what the commercial offering is with known working graphics drivers. There was another r...

Re: Windows 7 RC
Hi Irads,
The last time someone asked about Windows7, you posted a screencap showing that it ran fine, but also mentioned that it was using VESA drivers instead of the intel drivers... has this been fixed?

Re: Router?
Not all wifi cards can act as access points. I don't think they've released which wifi card they've decided on, the last time users asked it was still 'undecided' or 'in testing'.
Irads? Has a board been chosen yet? Can it act as an access point?

Re: Power on Ethernet PoE
Wishlist idea:
Make a version of this that can *run* off of PoE. it's wattage requirement is low enough.

Re: Inernal HSDPA modem
Interesting wish. seems a little specialized.
were you considering desktop use, or portable?
if portable, do you have ideas for screen, keyboard and power?
In any event, I'd think getting a phone that can act as a bluetooth modem and a small usb bluetooth chip would be your best bet here.

Re: Just tried to install FreeBSD on Fit-PC2
Hi Steve, I am interested in using one of these with FreeBSD as well. Network is primary importance for me. Can you give me the relevent output from 'pciconf -lv' and /var/log/messages? Here's an example of what I'm looking for... http://www.mail-archive.com/freebsd-stable@freebsd.org/msg100433.html...

Re: Serial port!
I think he's talking about wanting a serial port to plug the thing into a console server or some such device where you could control the machine via it's serial console instead of the keyboard and video. There's some other perfectly good hardware that still uses old serial ports, like UPS or network...

Re: Boot on USB ? on microSD ?
I'm betting your slowness has more to do with the usb-drive and the way the software is configured rather than the computer it's attached to. There are a few ways to improve performance of a system running off a thumb drive, but what in particular is 'slow' for you? are you talking about slow bootin...
