Re: Uptime and Stability
Thanks for taking the time to let me know. Yeah the always-on feature is kind of important there. I will be insisting on that feature when I order (after they're available to me) Good luck with the ethernet drivers! I use FreeBSD a lot too and would rather use a built-in ethernet port than a USB one...

Re: Just tried to install FreeBSD on Fit-PC2
This is great news marquz! I had expected that a fix would come along eventually... and if by "eventually" we mean "before I can order one" that's doubly good news! ^_^ So... I know it says it supports the chip now... but have you actually tried it? These products have not been released for distribu...

Re: fit-PC2 diskless with Intel Atom Z530
Because it's not part of the Intel US15W chipset... Which is the answer to many of the "why doesn't this computer have a ___?" type questions. There's no space or power to add more chips to this computer. It could have feature X, Y, or Z, but then it would be bigger, draw more power, generate more h...

Re: Intel GMA500 drivers for Ubuntu 9.04 on fit-pc2
Hi Eran,
Yes, I've posted those articles here previously. The 'old' drivers would work on 804 just fine, but anything newer was out of luck. This thread is about an update since the time those articles were written to get the drivers working on 810.

Re: Just got it
What's the highest video mode your TV supports in progressive mode? All reports I've read will do funny things if you try and use a dvi port in an interlaced mode. I have read that you can set your monitor driver to whatever you want as long as that monitor has the resultions you're trying to use. I...

Problems connecting to an HDMI TV
Sparks... You mentioned that you could reset the display to vga sizes and you did get a picture... so, it's obviously functional (ie: not hardware problem)... What video mode are you looking to set it to that doesn't work? I am assuming you got a XP model, and have not put Win7 on it yet, based on y...

Re: boot at power-on
yes, there was a thread somewhere here where irads posted that that configuration would be available, but that you would have to confirm with your vendor that you were buying a model that could do that. I'm *guessing* it's a hardware modification, not bios or software, so you either get a model that...

Uptime and Stability
Hi all,
Just curious if maybe any of the distributors have some 'uptime' data they can share? I'm hoping someone plugged an ubuntu in when they got it and havn't turned it off yet?
I intend to use one of these as a personal webserver. (hosting my own files to me when I'm away from home)

Re: HDMI and audio
audio only goes over a HDMI connector when the device is generating a HDMI signal. This device does not, it has a HDMI connector only because it is smaller than a DVI connector. The device comes with a HDMI->DVI adapter. Some users have had success connecting directly to a hdmi tv, but that is only ...

Re: HDMI connection to TV
find out what the native resolution is on the tv panel... then change your resolution in the operating system to match. may take a bit of research but without either the computer or the panel doing half-pixel-converting it'll wind up being the clearest image.
