Re: Wireless card not visable

Above I noted that I reinstalled 10.04 LTS. Same problem in both Mint and Ubuntu, but after Mint locked up and wouldn't load past the login, I reverted to a clean install of Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. Yes, I've done the entire list of updating events listed on this forums official how to of the fit install.

Re: Wireless card not visable

After sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list sudo , what I have below is found at the end of list just as you see. This is how I entered it. # WLAN Ralink RT3070 USB (fitPC2i) #is this needed? :: echo 'blacklist rt2800usb' | sudo tee -a /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf Was that the appropriate way to enter ...

Re: Wireless card not visable

I am not finding any results "fitpc2". I have also reinstalled 10.04 LTS because Mint froze up. (Login screen looked small and odd, next screen was black and only had mouse cursor). "Enable Wireless" checked, there's no signal icon on desktop, "Wireless Networks - disconnected" is still shaded and d...

Re: Wireless card not visable

My Chinese phone and Mac desktop are picking up 4-6 WiFi signals regularly. Within this apartment I am producing a WiFi signal as well from a 2Wire DSL router. There is still no indicator of signal or a menu displaying choices of other signals.

Re: Wireless card not visable. Half way there

Now - Wireless Networks checked, but indicating disconnected and shaded. This similar "disconnected" status was achieved while 10.04 LTS was installed.

How can I reconnect this and see available WiFi signals? The provided threaded omni antenna is in place.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Wireless card not visable

Thanks for the ideas. My most recent effort was a clean install without partitions, allowing the installing program to select the entire drive deleting anything that was already there. If you could read through my last posts and not find any script errors, then I did it all verbatim. Earlier install...

Re: Wireless card not visable

I started over again, default bios and everything. After installing, I accessed /etc/apt/sources.list and looks like this now: deb http://packages.linuxmint.com/ isadora main upstream import deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid main restricted universe multiverse deb http://archive.ubuntu.com...

Re: Wireless card not visable

The process went as instructed but no obvious improvements. "Enable Networking" and "Enable Notifications" are both checked as before without word of wireless selection. The bios is booting everything upon startup except a cdrom and still there is no indication of the pci-e wireless capability. I ha...

Re: Wireless card not visable

Thank you for the reply. Regarding this: * Add the following lines to /etc/apt/sources.list ## Repository for fit-PC2 users provided by Compulab deb http://fit-pc2.com/download/ubuntu/dists/lucid binary/ deb-src http://fit-pc2.com/download/ubuntu/dists/lucid source/ Each has several options such as;...
