Also consider getting the heat-sink accessory product. When I installed the heat-sink, the running temperature decreased by about 4-5C without active cooling.

Re: The new gma500 driver
prj, could you give us an idea about who would stand to benefit from these new GMA500 drivers? My sense is that the fit-pc community might gain a more maintainable, more reliable, driver that works in future versions of Ubuntu/Mint/Xorg. But from my understanding, we would probably also lose video a...

Re: 2.5" SATA II SSD work?
My understanding is that TRIM mode can work with an IDE controller. My testing of a fit-pc2, with an SSD drive that supports the TRIM function, is that the TRIM function *does* work. The test shows that after deleting a file, it is automatically reset to all-zero, which indicates that the TRIM funct...

Re: Is there a good linux driver for the GMA500?
Could I ask that compulab staff update the wiki page with a little bit more information about the video drivers? All the jargon out there about video drivers is a little hard to understand. Right now, the wiki page says, "The drivers are currently available in binary form for Ubuntu 8.04 and for Ubu...

Getting Linux TRIM support to work
I have apparently had success to enable TRIM support for my OCZ Vertex 2 SSD. I just wanted to share my technique. (more detailed instructions can be found at http://sites.google.com/site/lightrush/random-1/howtoconfigureext4toenabletrimforssdsonubuntu ) 1. I have Linux Mint 9, which has linux 2.6.3...

LIRC (infrared) drivers for Linux Mint do not work
Greetings-- The current driver situation for the IR receiver is that it doesn't work under Linux Mint 9 Isadora. Can the standard kernel please be updated with the correct driver under Mint? The standard driver supplied by 2.6.35-34-fitpc2 simply does not recognize USB vendor:device code 03eb:21fe, ...
