But... wouldn't a UPS do that even better, and with more customizations possible?
Although I admit I've wished for 10 seconds of battery or ultra-capacitor power so I could swap the Fit-PC from a renewable battery energy system to a mains powered UPS without shutting down.

Re: passive speaker directly connected, which impedance needed?
It's not clear to me from the specifications if a speaker can be connected directly. In fact, it doesn't seem to be mentioned, so maybe it can't do it? ... I can't get any sound of my Fit-PC2 running under Linux, but I am not sure if it isn't some sort of software problem. Will try hooking up to an ...

Re: Small Monitors that use same power?
Has someone gotten the Samsung SyncMaster HighDefinition MiniMonitor U70 to work with Linux?
It sounds like it would, but the only source I've found on the 'net is in Ebay and they don't accept returns. So as well if someone knows someplace that sells it closer to Canada, that would be great.

Re: Ubuntu 9.04, video problems, help!
I have a similar problem with Ubunto 9.04. Xfree always wants to over-drive the monitor, it tries to put 1600x1200, but the monitor only supports 1280x1200. I've tried putting refresh rate (HorizSync & VertRefresh) but it just ignores them. If I put the Fit-PC2 on my 21" then I can see it, but if I ...

Re: New repository for fit-PC2
I am trying to upgrade the video packages, using the first repository that was given a while back, but I get errors. I'd rather not have to reinstall, perhaps someone is more familiar with this and can help? sudo apt-get install libdrm2 libdrm2-dbg libdrm-dev libgl1-mesa-dri-psb psb-video xorg-modul...

Re: Which wired/wireless card on fit-pc2?
The ordering page has been updated with a wireless chipset: Realtek RTL8187L.
I did not think this card supported master mode?
This is a USB / small device chipset, so if there is a driver to make it do master mode, it could be used for FitPC slim or regular?

Re: WLAN and miniSD socket
I wonder if Mini-PCI-Express slot can be used to install BlueTooth adapters for those who want internal BlueTooth adapter and don't want Wi-Fi functionality. It's not worth the risk. Just use a USB Bluetooth adapter... dealextreme.com has some for $4 (four american dollars, not a typo, with shippin...
