Re: Can I configure Fit PC using a laptop?
I have mine hooked up to my TV, but I primarily use Win7's built-in Remote Desktop Connection to administer it. I do this from a desktop, but of course a laptop would work just as well. Works great. I did use the TV when I first installed and for initial config. Perhaps you could borrow a monitor an...

Re: Video drivers
Well, that was easy! I tried a known good wmv file (recorded off a webcam on another computer, runs perfectly on other machines) and the same crash occurred. File loaded, first frame displayed, then the mouse pointer got laggy for several seconds, and poof the display vanished. Not a blue screen, bu...

Video drivers
Some minor issues to report. The GMA500 driver that Win7 automatically gets from Windows Update isn't very good. Lots of laggy redraws. The one rasseren links to in the drivers/installation thread is better. However, it also has a few issues. Sometimes, like after a UAC prompt, non-invalidated porti...

Re: Installation and drivers
Followed rasseren's instructions and installed win7 without a problem. Posting this now from my fit-pc attached to my tv! Thanks! Notes: after the first reboot, the computer again booted to the usb stick. I had to change the boot order to go back to the hard drive, and installation continued as norm...

Re: Temperatures and battery?
Yogev, Ender, That's exactly the information I was looking for. Thanks! For anyone else reading, the site said the case gets to 50C under load, or ~120F. If you're curious, I want to put it in a place where my kids might touch it. These temperatures are well within what I'd consider safe, though I m...

Re: Temperatures and battery?
Does anyone have some real-world measurements for external temperatures? I imagine it must be lower than the CPU temp. I will be running Win7 as well. Ender, while it's under load are you able to pick it up with your bare hands? I would imagine that at 71C you would be able to at least for a moment ...

Re: No longer booting
You should be able to reinstall from USB if you happen to have a thumb drive. 1GB should do it for XP. I haven't done it with XP myself but Win7 was pretty easy. I found a step-by-step guide online.
Just something to consider before you plunk down for a USB drive you'll never use again.
