I was able to complete my installation by using a USB drive instead. You can kill this thread if you like.

I installed an blank hard drive, but I cannot boot into the Mint Linux installer. I know the DVD drive is working, because when I boot my laptop off of it, it goes right into the Mint Linux installer.

Could there be a BIOS setting I need to change?

Other thoughts?
