Got it out!
Ended up with me pressing the longer / thinner screws in the drive holes and using brute force to pull the drive out.

Removing the Hard Drive
I'm having trouble removing the hard drive. The instructions say to flip the drive cover over, screw it into the drive & use it as a lever. The only problem is that the longer screws used to affix the cover are too thin to screw into the hard drive and the screws used to screw in the drive itself, a...

More information would be helpful
Do you have the diskless version? If so, you'll have to partition the disc before installing. The Debian installer (I'm guessing Ubuntu is the same) lets you partition the disc during the installation, either automatically or manually.

This seems to be very much a grey area. There is the source available for the drivers but they're a year old and only version 0.2.10. I believe the source can be obtained from here: http://v1.moblin.org/build-results/projects/xf86-video-psb/lpia/ ...but I've no idea what sort of condition they're in...

You can buy an HDMI to VGA converter but they're not cheap, £120+ from what I've seen.
Another option could be USB to VGA, cheaper (around £40) but I've not used one myself so couldn't comment on performance or compatabiliy / drivers if you're using Linux.
