Re: mplayer issues
Denis, We tried Ubuntu 9.10. It works (with -loop 0, as we've been discussing) fine in "normal" mode, but fails when we use the "-fs" (fullscreen) option. When we try to play in fullscreen mode, it fails (goes to the previously mentioned grey screen) after three or so loops. If we can make the Ubunt...

User Forums search screen
You apparently have a limit of 14 characters for each word in a search specification. Please expand this to 20 (or more). There are significant words with more than 14 letters. As you have it now, a user (like me) can not use them to find relevant posts.
Thanks

Re: Linux Mint 9 is officially supported
The file name contains the full path of where to find it and adding the lines is just a matter of using a text editor (there are several to choose from).

Re: mplayer issues
This issue was reported as occurring with a high def (720p) format file. I've confirmed that it also happens with a low res (480p) one, at least when "-loop 0' is used. The file plays fine once, but goes to grey screen (and garbled audio) when it tries to restart play. This does not happen with audi...

Re: screensaver issues
Whatever screensaver this is appears to only care about physical mouse / keyboard activity. As I've said, mouse and keyboard activity through virtual devices (remote desktop via VNC) does not turn it off (the screen stays blank). I confirmed that movement of a physical mouse (not normally present, b...

Re: screensaver issues
Yes. I also changed the screensaver to be something other than a blank screen, so I could tell if it was activated. That's not what's happening. In addition to the physical screen going blank after a few minutes, it's staying blank when I do things on the screen using a remote desktop (VNC) connecti...

Re: screen rotation
Ok, I did a fresh reinstall/update and it works. I must have broken something in the other install.

Re: screensaver issues
That was already done. I have also gone into Startup Applications and turned off the Power Manager daemon.

screensaver issues
I have the current version of LInuxMint 9 installed and configured with no screensaver (and all related options I can find turned off). The display is still going blank after five minutes (or so). The computer has neither a keyboard nor a mouse plugged in. I am controlling it through a remote deskto...

Re: mplayer issues
As a clarification on the last post, when the grey screen appears, the only way (I've found) to clear it is to reboot. Also, the screen looks normal on a remote desktop connection, it's just the real display that's affected, not the virtual one.
