it won't be supported until some new drivers show up giving vaapi support for vaCopySurfaceGLX.
The texture from pixmap support may work. But currently the drivers from the normal gma500 repo doesn't support that.

okey.. here is why it crashes with ddc enabled.. (found by a manual startx, doesn't show in log)

I think xorg is actually crashing mid startup. By adding Option "NoDDC" to my xorg, it seems to continue to start up, but i get nothing on screen.
Probably not selecting a valid mode for the TV even thou i did add a proper modeline for it.

okey one step forward.. making sure "/etc/initramfs-tools/modules" contains psb and then running "update-initramfs -u" gave me something on screen instead of black screen. It now displays parts of the plymuth loader i think. Just the text thou. And vt switching seems to work, atleast to vt 1. But X ...

Hi, I'm also suffering from the black screen on boot issue. Have a Samsung TV connected over HDMI. starting recovery console and modprobing psb does indeed give a high rez console, so that far it seems to be working. What is abit odd is that the psb kernel module doesn't seem to have been loaded on ...

MKV is a container not a codec. It's up to player to support and has nothing todo with hardware.. Same goes for your audio issues.
