Re: fit-PC2i as an accesspoint
Yep, I use the system as a 24/7 server but unfortunately the AP will be used mostly for temporary "guest" access which make it hard to monitor longterm. But, I will report back if I discover any "oddities".

Re: fit-PC2i as an accesspoint
Update After a bit of tinkering with the settings I have gotten it to work (don't know exactly what change I made that made it work), which means that AP works in Windows on fitpc2i. I run a stripped down XP in virtualbox, NATed back to ubuntu which runs as host. So this might be a workaround solut...

Re: fit-PC2i as an accesspoint
*cough* *cough* I highly doubt that. It may be the case for this specific driver, but in most other cases it's not. I have my problems with bleeding-edge considered matured, too I beg to differ. Most x86 peripherals/devices are _primarily_ developed for Windows (since there is where the large "bulk...

Re: fit-PC2i as an accesspoint
This should be possible on any OS as long the drivers support this. There are some patches floating around for the linux driver, but I haven't tested those because I don't have a fitpc2i. Windows is completely out of my scope.. This is why I choose to test in in windows as it usually have the most ...

fit-PC2i as an accesspoint
After reading all the other posts on accesspoints it is still unclear to me, can the fit-PC2i operate as an accesspoint in ANY OS? I'm using XP (in virtualbox host ubuntu) and atleast the driver seem to support it. It's possible to configure it as an accesspoint. Other hosts will "see" it as an acce...

Unable to load eth1 due to "cannot allocate memory"
I have a problem bringing eth1 up. If i do it directly at startup it works, but later seem to fail. Bringing it up manually later results in: $ sudo ifconfig eth1 up SIOCSIFFLAGS: Cannot allocate memory $ free total used free shared buffers cached Mem: 1016976 995788 21188 0 16824 625248 -/+ buffers...

Kernel configuration
Hi I have installed 10.04 on my fitpc2i. As I run it as a server without an attached display i don't care about the missing graphic drivers. But i would like to install a custom kernel with the other tweaks and non supported stuff stripped. Is there a kernel configuration file i can use to recompile...

Re: System clock lose
Has this issue been addressed? Is this a problem on all units, or only on some that are defective?

Re: Intel X25-M G2 overkill?
Seem like random read/write performance (http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/sh ... i=3607&p=4) is within the range of the maximum throughput of PATA, so it might not be a total waste.

Intel X25-M G2 overkill?
I thinking of buying a fit-PC2i and a Intel X25-M G2 solid state flash disk. Will the 2i be able to make use of the performance of the disk or I'm I better of buying a cheaper/slower flash disk?
