Thanks, I'll try that.gabrielh wrote:You can try to switch USB ports between the USB HDD and the USB stick. That will change the boot order.

Re: Problem booting off USB stick
Can you post a print screen of the boot order? Not easily, no. I'd have to bring my server down. But from memory the boot order menu is like this (--- added for the forum, these lines are indented on the BIOS screen): 1. USB HDD ---1.WD???? ---2.WD???? ---3.KOMEXRAM 2.ATA HD0 Notice that the extern...

Re: Problem booting off USB stick
I can't. The USB stick and external USB drives are in a subgroup and I can't change the order within the subgroup. I can only move the entire group relative to other boot devices.gabrielh wrote:Have you set a correct boot order priority in the BIOS? Put your usb thumb drive first in the list, and then reboot.

Re: Fit- PC3 and Acronis 2013
Found the same thing. I took it as a good reason to try and ditch the bloated horror of Acronis TI11. I installed Macurium Reflect today and it seems a lot faster and I haven't had one crash out of it yet. For my purposes the free version might almost be good enough but that doesn't get you incremen...

Re: Boot problems when USB drive attached
Lol, sounds similar to my problem. In my case since allowing Win 7 to recover from sysprep the FitPC3 keeps trying to boot from one of the external drives. The only way to stop it is to move all USB HDDs below the internal HDD in the boot order. That's fine for normal running but if I'm doing a reco...

Problem booting off USB stick
A slightly odd one this. I'm migrating my Win7 installation from my old FitPC2 to the FitPC3. Since I have to do a sysprep I decided to clone the main HDD to a spare drive and effectively 'recover' the drive to spare media before monkeying with it. Anyway here's the sequence I used: 1. Backup main H...

Re: FitPC2 suddenly switching off
It's a Crucial CT064 M4. The link to firmware upgrade page is here: http://www.crucial.com/support/firmware.aspx For what it's worth my server has been fine since the upgrade. I had some fun and games getting it to boot off the USB stick though. In the end the only way to stop my Fit from booting of...

Re: FitPC2 suddenly switching off
You were right. There's been a firmware upgrade for my SSD. Actually made me laugh when I read it: "Release Date: 01/13/2012 Change Log: Changes made in version 0009 (m4 can be updated to revision 0309 directly from either revision 0001, 0002, or 0009) Correct a condition where an incorrect response...

FitPC2 suddenly switching off
My FitPC suddenly seems to be switching itself off every hour. It's running Win7 and has been happily doing so 24/7 since I got it nearly two years ago. There's nothing in the Windows event logs. It's done it twice now and when I attach a screen it's showing 'operating system not found'. If I reboot...

Re: USB Harddrive standby?
I've been running Win7 on my Fit-PC2 for a couple of years now. It currently has two WD Passport Essentials attached - a 1TB and a 2TB. They power down after ten minutes and I have no problems backing up from one to the other. Both of these drives boxes have their own PSU.
