Cheap cooling solution

It's summer here in Australia and my fit-PC3 hit 67 degrees the other day so today I whipped up this simple solution using an old CPU cooler I had lying around: IMG_20131222_160121_830.jpg The fan is actually 12V but runs fine and silently when powered by 5V from a USB port. It's just sitting on top...

Re: DC Power Jack Input Connector

A standard DC power plug works fine. I'm running mine off a 12V UPS.

Re: CentOS 6.2 doesn't automatically boot (grub)

Just received a new fit-PC3 to replace my old fit-PC2, installed CentOS 6.3 X86_64 and hit this same problem. Currently using the workaround of setting the delay to 0 but it's not ideal.

Re: Solution for freezes when scp/ftp/nfs with most linux di

The r8168 driver is also available in the ELRepo repository so if you're running CentOS 6/RHEL 6/SL 6 you can just:

Code: Select all

rpm -Uvh http://elrepo.org/elrepo-release-6-4.el6.elrepo.noarch.rpm
yum install kmod-r8168
It will also take care of disabling the r8169 module.

Thanks for this - I'll give it a try.

I've just upgraded to CentOS 6.0 from CentOS 5.4 and have switched over to using the Wireless LAN interface because of the lockups. I had no problems with ethernet on CentOS 5.4

I too would be interested in the fix for this as I plan on upgrading to CentOS 6.0 when it becomes available (hopefully soon now).

I'm running 5.4 but diskless so I guess that's not very helpful to you ;)

USB over-current change errors & disconnects

Hi, I have two USB devices connected to my fit-pc2 - a Current Cost power monitor and a weather station. After about 12-24 hours I get messages like this in syslog: hub 4-0:1.0: over-current change on port 1 hub 1-0:1.0: over-current change on port 1 hub 1-0:1.0: port 2 disabled by hub (EMI?), re-en...
