Re: Stuck on "acquiring network address" on fresh Win XP install
Oh, sorry, I missed the first sentence from your previous post! Do you have any other wireless access points you can try connecting with? Are you using WPA-2 or similar security that you can try disabling, to see if that works? It's possible making your WAP open (or downgrading to WEP) may help (not...

Re: Stuck on "acquiring network address" on fresh Win XP install
Hi staffanb,
Sorry to hear about your network troubles. Are you using Windows XP's wireless network management, or are you using the RALink wireless network management? If the former, I highly recommend trying the latter.

Re: Video lags behind audio for 720p AVI, WMP; MPC-HC reboots
Thanks for the information. Unfortunately, the PowerDVD9 site is a little bit confusing to navigate, and it was unclear to me which version of PowerDVD9 had GMA500 support; but, from the copy there, it seemed like it was either all, or none, and I was guessing the former. I paid for and downloaded P...

Re: Video lags behind audio for 720p AVI, WMP; MPC-HC reboots
Thanks for the quick and clear reply! I will try purchasing PowerDVD next. I misunderstood this post: http://www.fit-pc2.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=1128 You advise there to install MPC-HC and the K-Lite codec pack, and mention not to use VLC because it does not support hardware acceleration; I m...

Video lags behind audio for 720p AVI, WMP; MPC-HC reboots
I have a Fit-PC2 with freshly installed Windows XP, all latest updates applied (including SP3). I am using Windows Media Player (WMP) 11. I installed the latest version of the K-Line Codec Pack, which also installed Media Player Classic Home Cinema (MPC-HC). The Fit-PC2 is hooked up via HDMI/analog ...

Re: Stuck on "acquiring network address" on fresh Win XP install
This problem is now solved for me. Here's how I fixed it. I did not do proper science, so I am not sure which step fixed the problem, but, after this sequence of events, my wireless networking is now working. First, I uninstalled the existing Ralink driver by running the installer from http://www.f...

Re: Stuck on "acquiring network address" on fresh Win XP install
Thanks for the reply and the suggestions! I checked the router's blacklist and it seems that the access control feature isn't even enabled, so it seems like that is not the case. I have also tried (1) configuring my router to hand out a particular IP for this MAC address, and (2) configuring Windows...

Stuck on "acquiring network address" on fresh Win XP install
I just reinstalled Windows XP Professional SP2 on a Fit-PC2, with a fresh out of box Windows installation CD on a USB CD-ROM. I installed all drivers from http://www.fit-pc2.com/download/xp-drivers/ (except the IEGD and wakeup drivers; I couldn't figure out how to install the former, and am not inte...

Re: XP Install hangs on Setup is starting Windows
I ran into this same problem, with a Fit-PC2 hooked up via HDMI to a Sharp AQUOS TV; when running Windows XP SP2 installation from a USB CD-ROM, the process would abruptly stop, with an indefinite blank screen, on the step right after "Setup is starting Windows" is displayed on bottom of the screen....
