Re: mplayer-vaapi will not install with mplayer-nogui installed.

It's to bad this doesn't work as it cripples any non-flash video in the browser as well. Are you sure it's not just a packaging error?

Re: USB WLAN stick not working...

It seems the camera does work, and rather well! Thanks even if you didn't do anything, it's nice to know it wasn't cut from the kernel.
Best Regards,
Jason Brower

Flash content will not play well. It it certainly can't do HD flash. (You need an intense computer to do that.)

How do I find out what devices are supported in the kernel?

What is the best way to know if the kernel that is installed has support for what I need? Is there a list of a .conf file that I can read from?
I am loving the new kernel, but I wonder if having the limited support for other hardware is that necessary. Is there really that much of a performance hit?

Setting up the system as a USB device...

It would be nifty to setup this device as a slave as well as a master. This gives the ability to plug the fit-pc into a tv or dvd player that reads from usb device. With this setup and linux, I could use the fit pc to get the new data from various sources and make it available to the tv device. http...

Re: Ubuntu 9.10

I like the approach of not having a special cd. That makes it so they with one set of instructions they fix, ubuntu, kubuntu, xubuntu, mythbuntu and just about all the other buntus andother ubuntu based distros. It's the best way to do it in my opinion. But I digress from the topic of this form.

Re: ubuntu 9.10 no sound after updating from fit-pc2 repo

Could you post the alsa file so we can see it? Perhaps there is a typo? Also start alsamixer and turn everything up. Make sure everything is plugged in and test the speakers on another device as well. Best Regards, Jason Brower I tried that before, no luck for me. :( I aslo tried to get a response a...

Re: USB WLAN stick not working...

They all do. I used them on our prototype machine before purchasing yours. I have used linux exclusively for over 10 years. These products have all been tested to work very well in linux.
