How to clone existing fit-pc to new diskless FitPC with SSD?
Hi, I just bought a couple of auto-on Diskless Fit-PC2's. I am planning to outfit them SSD drives. Since I already have a fitpc running the system we need, I was planning to clone my current fitpc system for onto the drives for the new computers. The quickest route I can think of to do this is liste...

Re: Auto shutdown on Low Voltage
I'd guess it would turn off. I'd hope it would anyway. If you have an auto-on fitpc and the power hovered around 8v you'd probably have bad things start happening. On the other hand, if you are using a 12v battery and it drops to 8v you probably have bigger problems than the pc and you'll have a ver...

Re: Recommended - Install from USB stick
Very helpful post. thanks. Do you have any suggestions for how to do this but using a clone of an existing fit-pc rather than a clean install of the OS? I was thinking of creating a disk image with Acronis and then loading that on to my new PC using a bootable USB stick but I imagine there might be ...

Re: Power management:Wake from hibernation w/ task scheduler(XP)
How come? my understanding is that the device acts as an external power switch with a timer so that after the PC is shut down, the DCDC can cut the external power supply off completely and then turn it on in the morning, or whenever. Then the fit pc will see that it had no power and the power was re...

Re: Battery powered Fit?
These guys have a lot of nice battery options: http://www.batteryspace.com/ If you aren't up to programing a micro controller to monitor battery voltage, you can easily set up a Phidgets USB board to do it. It is not a particularly cheap solution (~$100) but Phidgets are very easy to program in almo...

Re: Power management:Wake from hibernation w/ task scheduler(XP)
Thanks for clarifying all that. That's very helpful. I recently found a handy device (http://www.mini-box.com/DCDC-USB) that can externally manage DC power input to the PC and can be programmed from the computer via a USB interface. Haven't tested one yet but his might be a good way for folks to put...

Re: Can I configure Fit PC using a laptop?
Once your pc is configured, you can use logmein free (http://logmein.com) or enable remote desktop (http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/06/1 ... e-edition/) to admin your fit-pc from another computer.

Re: Power management:Wake from hibernation w/ task scheduler(XP)
It has been my experience in extensive testing that the fit pc (tried with both Aug'09 and Dec'09 bios versions) will not wake from hibernation to run a task. Since no one from fitpc has responded to my previous post, I will assume that this is the case. Too bad; this makes it not a very useful syst...

Re: Questions
For finding a low power monitor, you can go somewhere like newegg.com and search for lcd monitors with DVI or HDMI input. If you go to the monitor specifications they usually tell you how many watts the monitor uses. Something like this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E1682423603...
