fit-pc2, XBMC, VA-API

Hi all, XBMC has added VA-API support in the development branch. However, the developer says that currently it will not run on a Poulsbo/GMA500 chipset because the poulsbo drivers are missing "vaPutImage" support (please check that link for more details). We know there are mplayer va-api patches tha...

Re: Top of my wishlist: 5.1 audio

Yes, but the fit-pc2i lost the IR Receiver, which is a big shame if you plan to use this as a HTPC...

Re: HTPC / XBMC edition

Hi Ypnos, Just curious, but can you describe your software setup of that HTPC configuration? Also, you complain about the audio configuration: I assume you refer to the lack of S/PDIF output, right? The configuration I propose does include that, so that should close the gap with the DuneHD that you ...

Re: HTPC / XBMC edition

Hi Irads :) Well, as I see it, this wishlist configuration could be seen as the fit-pc2i with the following extras: IR receiver That broadcom thingie DVD/Bluray drive and minus: 1 Gigabit ethernet port Serial port I assume that the IR receiver instead of the Serial port doesn't add any net cost. As ...

HTPC / XBMC edition

I'm very impressed with the low power requirements of the fit-pc2 and I'd love to use it as a media center / small home server in my living room. But I have a few problems with the current specs though: fit-pc2 doesn't have digital audio out, so not good for a fit-pc2i doesn't have the IR receiver b...

fit-pc2i: no IR?

I just noticed that the specs for the fit-pc2i do not include the built-in IR receiver! Is that true? Why leave that out? It would make an awesome HTPC if it had IR built in, but without it not so much...

Re: Broadcom BCM70012 Mini PCI-e HD Decoder Chipset

Hi, Is the PCIe slot in the fit-pc2 free, eg. nothing else is installed in it by default? Is it possible for me to install this PCIe card into a fit-pc2 (or rather the fit-pc2i when it comes out) myself? Does this void warranty? (XBMC has just officially announced support for this broadcom card, so ...

ffmpeg va-api support

Hi all, Does anybody know anything about the VA-API patches for FFMPEG? As far as I know, those patches are not yet integrated into the upstream version of ffmpeg. Is there a download of ffmpeg/libavwhatever available somewhere that incorporates these patches? Also, if such a download exists, is the...

Re: Broadcom BCM70012 Mini PCI-e HD Decoder Chipset

Hi, I know that the GMA500 has enough power to handle all this. The point is that the Fit-PC2I would make an awesome box for XBMC, which doesn't (yet) support the VA-API interface for the GMA500. So I was hoping that I might be able to slot in one of those broadcoms and "jump the queue" a bit so to ...

Re: SPDIF - coaxial or optical?

Ah, coaxial... but it is not the regular coaxial connection that I would find on the back of my amplifier. So how would I hook this up? Is there a converter cable that comes along with the unit?
