Re: Possible Hardware Problem???
Thanks. I was hoping hardware. I'm guessing the SSD went south. No reason for the OS to get corrupted - no changes except for patching.

Possible Hardware Problem???
I have had a Fit-PC2 running Windows XP using a 30GB OCZ SSD for several years. The application is Weather data collection and logging to wunderground.com. That's all it does. I periodically update Windows patches and keep the Avira antivirus up-to-date. Yesterday, I noticed no data going to wunderg...

Re: 24x7 weather computer
Self promotion :o Hey, when I think a product is well designed and implemented, I think it deserves some positive press. If it's a POS, it deserves the razzies as well. Too many times these days I am seeing shoddy products turned out by companies with big "positive" reputations. The heat isn't bad. ...

Re: 24x7 weather computer
:D Well, my FIT-PC2 arrived yesterday. I strapped in the 30GB OCZ SSD, Installed XP SP3, and had it fully configured with all the FIT-PC2 drivers and the 63 additional Microsoft updates inside of an hour. Needless to say I was IMPRESSED! Transferred all my weather data from the old PC to the new one...

Re: 24x7 weather computer
Thanks for the warning. The fit-pc2 doesn't have that by default. It is an orderable option, but apparently not from Amazon.com. I may have to wait for the fit-pc2i or pay a $35.00 premium to order direct from Compulab.

Re: 24x7 weather computer
One more question.
Which OCZ SSD would you recommend.
30GB Vertex or the Vertex Turbo (EX)? There's only about a $20.00 proce difference.

Re: Operating Temperature with SSD
Makes sense. You might want to clarify the temperature tolerance in your specs. I got confused. Others might as well.

Re: Distributors/Resellers for Fit-PC2i
Great!. I am looking for the 2GB, diskless model x 2.
If Amazon doesn't offer it, will I be able to order it direct?

Distributors/Resellers for Fit-PC2i
I read the press release about January 2010 availability. Where will the Fit-PC2i be available? Will it be available from Amazon or other USA resellers?

Re: Operating Temperature with SSD

Thanks for the clarification. I was worried.
Why the difference in heat tolerance between SSD & HDD?
