ad-hoc wireless mode configuration on fit-pc2
hi all, I am looking for configuring a local wireless network (no need to connect to the web) while the fit-pc2 is the access point device. I though doing so by using ad-hoc mode configuration on my fit-pc2 (WLAN device is RT3090). I face troubles doing so (using ubuntu 9.04 and 9.10). Can someone t...

Re: can't get logical name for wifi usb dongle
Thanks.
well, i didn't even imagine that this well known dongle is not supported.
but you probably right and I will check it.
Still this solution is my second priority (and not a good solution).
I will still continue and check the option of ad-hoc on the original RT3090 WLAN device.
Thanks,

can't get logical name for wifi usb dongle
Hi All, I am using karmic on fit-pc2 and want it to act as my point access for an internal subnet using Ad-Hoc network (not even connected to the web). The built in wireless device is an RT3090, which seems not to support Ad-Hoc network :-(. For that reason I connected my USB wi-fi dongle from Belki...

Re: can't booting ubuntu from USB2 disk-on-key dongle
Thanks carmen.
Well, the problem was solved only after setting it as bootable.
Using gparted, I formatted it into ext3 and setting the boot flag.
Then it went well.
Thanks,
Yossi

Re: can't booting ubuntu from USB2 disk-on-key dongle
Sorry, the error message is: "Error 21: Selected disk does not exist" and not as I mentioned above.
Also, can you explain why I see this message also for hd0 ?, which I thought is the hard disk

can't booting ubuntu from USB2 disk-on-key dongle
Hi, I have a 4G USB2 disk-on-key stick, formatted to one single ext3 partition. My target is avoiding the usage of the hard-disk (disconnecting it from the board). I installed ubuntu 9.04 from a CD-ROM to my USB device, and it looks like every thing went well. After reseting the system I excluding t...
