ok working now, made an

apt-get update / upgrade

apt-get remove lirc
apt-get install lirc


and now its working fine :P

using mint 9 in a virtual machine without the repos from fitpc, i can compile the modules. so it seems to be connected with your patches to the kernel ...

maybe try to play with some options in the xorg.conf:

i had that problem with the (non contiguous) thing. either you switched the computer of without shuting down the operating system or the harddrive is dying. i used smart and in my case it sayd: harddrive is expected to die within the next 24 hour, backup immidiatly. was too late, a lot of files had ...

mint doesnt switch off the monitor

since i installed mint, the monitor isnt switch off anymore. it only gets blank, the back-light stays on. screensaver is switched off, powersettings is 5min to switch monitor off.

any idea?

no that doesnt help. i am not aiming for the internal infrared device. i have an external usb X10 remote, and i need the atiusb module. all guides on the net use >install lirc-modules-source< which automatically trys to compile the dkms modules. however, it seems to be a bug in the modul itself ...

ok, instead of nano try gedit

you should now get an editor with frontend, maybe u more comfortable with that.

sorry I had to laugh, since first time with nano i need some time to figure it out tooo...

the ^ corosponds to the left strg or ctrl key

so you have to press: ctrl + o , ctrl + x

Go to advanced search
