Re: SSD best choice or is compulab going to offer one?

The major drawback of SSD is price per byte. CompuLab will offer soon 8GB SanDisk SSD as a storage option with fit-PC2/i. If Compulab were to offer an 64 or 128 Gb SSD with a linux Image pre-installed that I could use to replace the HD in my Fit-PC2 as some sort of 'premium' accessory I would consi...

Re: Intel X25-M G2 overkill?

So when I get my SSD drive, it would be better to hang it off my SATA->USB adapter?

Re: conceptional question / usb HDD / Raid

Hi, When the computer is running I often have problems with the USB ports as well. If I for example plug in a HDD while the computer is running it will only recognize it about 1 time in 5. When it doesn't I have to reboot with the HDD plugged in. The same goes for keyboards and other USB devices. C...

a couple of quick Q's about 9.10 -

Is hyperthreading still disabled?
Is the temperature sensor problem cured, or is this a Bios thing?

Re: ACPI Kernel issue

question - are you using gigabit ethernet?
we had similar problem at work doing big transfers on gigabit (with SuSe), switching to 100Mbit cured things

Re: Ubuntu 9.10 supported

my FitPC2 came with only one partition - they did not put /home on a separate one :-(

Think I will wait till I get the SSD drive and install 9.04 on that :-) That way if it all goes wrong I can just plug the old hard disc back in.

Re: Ubuntu 9.10 supported

Can you upgrade in-place from 8.04lts to 9.10 on the fit-pc, or do you need to do full re-install?

Re: Okay, I'll bite -- SSD!

But if they offered minipci ssd option instead of wlan http://www.fit-pc2.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=826 then we would not need to void our warranties to fit them :-) This would leave the main drive bay free for a 'data' drive (Has anyone got comparative performance figures for SSD's in drive ba...
