Not sure what I did but all is now working fine. I suspect "Operator Error" - harder to admit to but cheaper to fix.
Again, thanks.

Re: Fit-PCs LAN failure
Many thanks for a helpful response. The device is definitely a Fit-PC2, not a Fit-PC2i. Not sure where to find the PN but a label on the bottom reads "Fit-PC2 - C1600-H-W-L - 090909-122". I don't need WiFi for this application, just 100baseT. Though the Realtek driver installs correctly (and has in ...

Fit-PCs LAN failure
I've been using a Fit-PC2 as a high-end music player for some years now. I've found nothing to touch it but the LAN card seems to have died. Can I obtain a replacement card and, if so, how? If not, can I use more or less any mini-PCIe LAN card? The device runs on WinXP without an internet link. Than...

Re: fit-PC2 as remote music player
Yes, it's been discussed before . . . :>) Some of the links in this thread might be useful: http://www.fit-pc2.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1074 Apart from the size, a big plus is that its RFI performance is excellent as it is very well shielded. A friend with access to a spectrum analyser reckons ...

Re: Screen resolution (via UltraVNC)
Is there a way to force the display settings to the specific resolution . . . ? As Irads notes, the problem is resolved with the IEGD driver though you need to have the monitor connected first time round. There's already a thread on the forum on this. Re: Headless XP
I'd like to run it headless, networked to my existing primary computer. I've been running a headless FitPC2 as a music server for well over a year now - see notes here: http://www.cicsmemoryplayer.com/index.php?n=CMP.Headless OK, it's not SBS but the results are excellent. The only change from thes...

Re: Audio from USB choppy
I had similar issues with a USB DAC - it might be worth your trying the following BIOS settings: Advanced Menu > Boot-time Diagnostic Screen: Disabled Intel Menu > CPU Control sub menu > Hyperthreading: Enabled; Processor Full Speed: Disabled Intel Menu > Chipset Control sub-menu > Audio, SDIO and L...

Re: The Fit-PC2 as a high-end audio PC
Has anyone done this? Yes - it's become routine. I haven't used a CD player for some years now: carefully set up, the PC is typically far better. Though, obviously, it works only with USB DACs, the Fit-PC makes an outstanding audio player. For a good introduction to using computers for audio playba...

Re: The Fit-PC2 as a high-end audio PC
Ah. The site owner moved it a week or two back - sorry for any inconvenience. The new links are: http://www.cicsmemoryplayer.com/index.php?n=CMP.Headless and http://www.cicsmemoryplayer.com/ I'm not sure that the information there is pertinent to in-car audio (I disable the audio in BIOS) but thanks...

I've been using 7Kb MTU Jumbo Frames at Gigabit speed on a Fit-PC2 for several months.
