Try to select the 'Safe graphics mode' at boot time (press F4 and select the Safe graphics mode).

Re: Fit-PC2 Optimized Ubuntu 9.10 LiveCD available

Try to start the livecd not the install mode. After a long time, when usb drive stops blinking, try to switch to the text console by pressing CTRL+ALT+F1. In this case it should change to the command line. Now you can set a password for your ubuntu user and after that you can issue 'sudo nano -w /et...

Re: Fit-PC2 Optimized Ubuntu 9.10 LiveCD available

Yeah, this is one potential problem. I setup it to 1024x768... somehow the auto-detecting the monitor does not work for me with 9.10. Hmmm, I should find a way to autodetect the monitor.... What kind of monitors do you have? Do you see anything on the screen? Did you try the auto adjust on your moni...

Re: Fit-PC2 Optimized Ubuntu 9.10 LiveCD available

On the livecd the initial password is empty (auto scrambled) with auto login. So, you do not really need password. When you will start the installation, you can setup your username and password. This is a standard ubuntu installation process, you can use this tutorial: Ubuntu 9.10 Installation step-...

Re: Fit-PC2 Optimized Ubuntu 9.10 LiveCD available

Do not forget to use the all_generic_ide option at boot time....

Regarding the server release, I do not promise, it will be ready in 1 day, but I keep your mention in my mind.....

Re: Fit-PC2 Optimized Ubuntu 9.10 LiveCD available

Hi,

Normally it is necessary to detect the chipset itself. I have no fit-pc2i in my hand, but I am sure, there is no problem with Hitachi hdd nor Samsung for example.
Any drive which is supported by the bios should work.

Good luck!
