Re: Media Centre crashes my Fit-PC2

The exact same thing happens to me. I don't even get the blocky screen. I think it's when the Fit-PC2 is under too much load it just crashes. Even browsing the recorded tv menu in media centre crashes my device!

I'm so disappointed that i'm going to sell mine. It doesn't work as an HTPC at all :(

Re: Overclock and Reduce Heat

Cheers mate, I've got everything the same except I haven't disabled LAN - I'll try that next. Also, I run at 1280x720 and am *hoping* that the device is freezing because it's overheating from the overclock. In a couple of days when I'm free I'll install a fan or maybe a cpu cooler and see if it beco...

Re: Overclock and Reduce Heat

haha free units would be awesome. I've tried running mine at around 1.7ghz and reading a recorded tv file from the HDD in 7 media centre always makes the device crash. i don't know whether this is due to the compulab driver not being able to handle it, but this still seemed to happen at standard clo...

Re: Overclock and Reduce Heat

Great - maybe the excess heat is the issue for me that is causing the crash, i'll try attaching a fan and doing the same thing as you.

Re: Overclock and Reduce Heat

Has it been idling at 2ghz for 3 days? At 2ghz mine bluescreens after about 30 seconds under the load of a TV show recorded in 7MC. Would you be able to include SD and HD video playback in your tests please? Are you using your box as an HTPC?

Re: Overclock and Reduce Heat

I'm not sure, I don't have an ethernet port near my TV so i'm only connected wirelessly. Have you heard of Ethernet over Power? (http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=495008) I'm going to look at trying to use this, but it does use ethernet, so I hope the ethernet works for m...

Re: Overclock and Reduce Heat

What is the maximum clock speed you have achieved? Also, did the laptop tweaks you spoke of speed up your fit-pc? If so, what were they? EDIT: I have just run up my Fit-PC 2 using the setFSB settings you described and have got it running seemingly stable at 1.85Ghz. It was unstable and would blue sc...

Re: Overclock and Reduce Heat

I am out of town currently but will return tomorrow and let you know which code to use. Luckily I found someone using SETFSB with a very identical set up, I tried it and it worked. I do know the people who designed the GMABOOSTER are working to do the same with the GMA500 series. Currently they onl...

Re: Overclock and Reduce Heat

Thank you for your reply - it is great to see somebody has overclocked the device! I tried to use FSB the other day but was confused by all the potential chipsets etc. Could you please tell me all the details to put into FSB such as the Clock Generator and any other details that are relevant? Also, ...

Video vs. GMA Driver

On this page: http://www.fit-pc2.com/download/win7-drivers/ what is the difference between the Win7_Video_091021.zip driver and the GMA500_win7_090528.zip driver? Is Win7_Video_091021.zip Compulab's own optimized driver?

Thanks,
