USB to VGA/DVI video adapter?
I think we all know Linux and the Intel GMA 500 adapter are not good friends, and it seems that Ubuntu 8.04 out of box just works with the F2PC2 GMA500, but what if we want to upgrade, or use other UNIX variants? Anyone have experience with using a USB to VGA/DVI adapter with the F2PC2? That is, mor...

Re: Poulsbo drivers will not be in Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala
For what it is worth, I'm happily using Ubuntu 8.04 installed from Canonical's CD, no special drivers, and regular Ubuntu-supplied updates, and the resolution is fine. I happen to be using the July BIOS.

Deconstructing the BIOS
Well, not that intense, but I did run the UNIX command "strings" on the .ROM of the 21-July-2009 version and found some interesting text - CompuTrace V70.785 IBM VGA Compatible BIOS $VBT POULSBO d BIOS_DATA_BLOCK 0016Intel(r)Poulsbo PCI Accelerated SVGA BIOS Build Number: 0016 03/25/2008 08:13:03 DE...

Help with 8.04 and recording streaming audio
I am a fan of gnome and have used gnome alsamixer to successfully record audio from the web on other systems. But something is preventing alsamixer from capturing audio from web streams. I determined Gnome alsamixer sees the streams coming from the Digital, but I cannot get the Rec[ord] checkbox to ...

Re: Ubuntu 9.04, video problems, help!
I found the answer, for me, to be with a fresh install of Ubuntu 8.04 from an ISO image from ubuntu.com. Native video is excellent for me, considering what other versions, distros, and regular updates do to mangle video. Kudos to fit-pc2 for pointing out the kernel boot option of all_generic_ide. I ...

Video acceleration does not work with other distributions
I've tried updated versions of Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora, CentOS, and the BSD family. Nothing has been successful at getting me high res with video acceleration. Even if I do get it for an out of box install, I update the OS, and video breaks again. All my web searching yields continued problems. I att...

MiniSD slot to expand RAM?
The FAQ does NOT address the miniSD slot. Can it be used for swap space and/or other expanded RAM possibilities?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: [problem] Video driver support after kernel update
Clear installation instaructions exists on our wiki http://fit-pc2.com/wiki/index.php?title=Ubuntu_on_fit-PC2 I personally prefer 8.04 because it`s faster than 9.04. 8.04 has no SATA support, and I have a SATA hard drive. I _could_ make the hard drive external, but I prefer it be internal. Any idea...

[problem] Video driver support after kernel update
The i386 kernel version 11 or 13 worked fine. After a kernel update, my Ubuntu 9.04 refuses to accept the psb drivers - and I've followed a lot of web sites for drivers and xorg.conf tweaks. Nothing has worked. Native video support at least gives me high res, but no smooth scrolling. Any updates/hel...

Ubuntu 9.04, video problems, help!
Video under 32-bit Ubuntu 9.04 worked perfectly until a recent update. As a result, nothing I've tried from any web site has helped restore video to its proper resolution. So, what to do... CentOS 5 has decent video capability and performance out of the box. I experimented with xdmcp from a "broken"...
