Re: A BIOS update 21-Jul-09 is released

Indeed, no problem for me with BIOS default settings. Except that I disabled C-states and used GV3 instead (no time to check if the system still hungs after this BIOS update when using xdmcp, scp or other network stuffs with C-states activated in BIOS). I also kept my "boot=b" in the kernel options ...

Re: Ubuntu won't restart

THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH ! :D (And thank you Mr. Open-Source to ... open the source) For Ubuntu users (Ubuntu 9.04 - kernel 2.6.28-13), if you want this option to be kept even if installing another kernel, you might possibly do this : 1) Open menu.lst : $ sudo gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst Find the ligne "...

Re: VNC

I haven't got any monitor either. I can't help for VNC because it was too much trouble to do simple things for me. I left VNC for SSH (and alternatively XDMCP). Maybe it could help ? Of course, if your laptop works with Windows ( ), you can forget all what I'm writing now ... No need to have...

Re: NR_CPUS limited to 1 - why?

1) Have you got Ubuntu 8.04 or Ubuntu 9.04 ?
2) If Ubuntu 8.04, can you please post the result of "cat /proc/cpuinfo" ?

Re: ACPI Kernel issue

Maybe we could create a new topic (if the forum rules allow it) so that people with the 8.04 could help us with posts like "cat /proc/cpuinfo" ?

I'm not ready to make another partition for a 8.04 beside my 9.04 before leaving on vacations ... :?

Re: ACPI Kernel issue / X freeze

Kernel 2.6.28-13-generic (Ubuntu 9.04). I had exactly the same problem as ekips (Spike?) but with an X11 session. I mean that it happened when logging to my couple of fit-PCs through XDMCP with another computer. Pressing a key on the keyboard didn't help, but slightly pressing the power button solve...

France (E.U.) : Total price in Euro

Feedback about the total cost in € :

Fit-PC2 diskless (cf. ender) : €326.90 ($305)
Fit-PC2 Linux (cf. myself) : €348.05 ($359)

N.B. I ordered two Linux fit-PCs and I had to pay €126,55 to UPS for customs charges (why on earth are there some frontiers ?!!!)
