Any luck with Fedora 11 and the gma 500 driver?
Has anyone tried the driver released by Adam Williamson on Fedora 11? http://www.happyassassin.net/2009/08/10/intel-gma500-poulsbo-on-fedora-11-repository-with-working-3d-compiz-support/ I installed the driver on freshly installed and updated Fedora11 on my fit-PC2 wireless version. There were serie...

Re: TCP Offload Engine
I would use something that won't make cpu work 100% for file transfer(ex. ftp) and create a ram disk (~600mb maybe?) on fit-pc2 and read out the file from the other machine to estimate the NIC speed. That way the cpu and the hard drive won't be the bottleneck and therefore it's more likely to measur...

Re: TCP Offload Engine
I am curious about the way you used for testing: hardware: what type of switch and cable did you use? Which NIC and how was it configured on the other end? software: which protocol did you run for the measurement and what software did you use? What's the CPU utilization on fit-pc2 during the file tr...

Some small suggestions for fit-pc2
Nothing major here. I just thought of some little things that could be improved. 1. better case design. The current 2-piece design is OK. However the back panel could have metal tabs to get a better fit with the top casing piece. 2. the DC-in connector is really loose. Just as someone mentioned befo...

Re: Remote Control Support
Please do. I am also working on getting Logitech harmony 880 remote control working for this box by using concordance and congruity but the driver installation was tricky for me.tisoft_media wrote:I have it working under ubuntu
Will post the solution, but i am on the run right now, so will do it later.

Re: SATA question
Another possible bottleneck is the disk access time(in terms of disc rotation speed). In my experience the data channel interface(IDE/SATA) is never the bottleneck, even for the 3.5" drives with less or equal 7200rpm.

Two possible future product lines
After reading some of the posts in the wish list group I have a feeling that it might be time to have two separate product lines in the future. The first line aims for the home server product w/ following feature: 1. two eSATA ports 2. two ethernet interfaces 3. keep four USB ports and IR 4. VGA D-S...

Re: fit-PC2 and hard disk temperature testing...
I believe the miniSD slot that comes with all fit-pc2 models is just a storage expansion slot. Upgrading to SSD means you can replace the main hard drive (for the models that come w/ hard drives) with a 2.5"/1.8" SSD. It has nothing to do with booting from the built-in miniSD reader. The box comes w...

Re: TouchScreen Support
I guess you can use "digitizer" as keyword to search online. Some digitizer board use USB and some use bluetooth(wireless connection).
There are some digitizer kits from a Chinese online store called dealextreme:
