Do not turn off your computer.
Often when I have added a new software package and then try to turn the computer off I get the “Getting windows ready. Do not turn off your computer” message. It may take an hour before the computer finally finishes and turns off. Is this normal?

What exactly is the error you get when you try to enable and install .NET 3.5 from the Add/remove windows feature menu? I get the "downloading required files window" which just sits there without downloading any files or terminating. It's been sitting there for over an hour now. I have to go into T...

I need to load net 3.5 for one of my applications but am having a problem. I go to control panel, turn windows features on or off, then click on the .NET Framework 3.5.
