I installed Windows 10, connections worked. Checked a Live USB with Mint 19. It worked. Fresh install of Mint 19 and problem solved.

The hotspot is detected but the connection is not made after writing the password. It was like at on the first day and still is.

Yes. I did check on Saturday and I have done it again after reading your post. I have connected the ethernet cable to the modem and I got the same 'cable unplugged' message. On wireless the same refusal to connect, with 100% signal reception by the modem.
