The supported distribution is Linux mint, we suggest to test it:

Unfortunately, it is not possible to control the default behavior from EFI.
This requires certain BIOS development as this feature is currently not available.

Please follow the I3M firmware update guide below:

This should re-install the front panel application and disable the bootloader mode.

fitlet2 supports a WiFi module without the need of any extension board. Also, should you wanted to use a 2.5" drive, you'd require the deep bottom cover for a 4TB hard drive.
